The verse highlights that steadfast dharma and single-pointed devotion (pātivratya) carry spiritual power: even Dharma personified becomes silent in awe, implying that sincere virtue supports the soul’s fitness for Shiva’s grace.
In the Parvati narrative, purity of conduct and unwavering devotion prepare the devotee for Saguna Shiva worship—approaching Shiva through embodied virtues that culminate in steadfast bhakti, the inner foundation for Linga-upāsanā.
The takeaway is disciplined vow-based devotion: maintain daily Shiva-smaraṇa with the Pañcākṣarī mantra (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) and a steady ethical life, as inner dharma is presented as the support for effective worship.
