Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Bhairava
Type: stotra
Offering: pushpa
The verse presents Śiva’s saguna form through sacred symbols—bhasma, the three eyes, and the serpent thread—teaching detachment from the perishable body and recognition of Śiva as the supreme, pure Lord (Pati) who grants liberation when remembered with devotion.
It supports saguna-upāsanā by giving contemplative marks for dhyāna (meditation) on Śiva; such form-meditation steadies the mind and culminates in linga-worship, where the same Lord is adored as the all-pervading reality manifest in an auspicious emblem.
Apply vibhūti (tripuṇḍra) with reverence and meditate on Śiva as Trilocana; contemplate the serpent-thread and ash as signs of renunciation and purity, supporting japa and bhakti—especially in Shiva Purana rituals for Mahashivratri.
