Pārvatī’s Discourse: Establishing Śiva as Parabrahman
अद्यप्रभृति ते दासस्तपोभिः क्रीत एव ते । क्रीतोऽस्मि तवसौन्दर्यात्क्षणमेकं युगाय ते
adyaprabhṛti te dāsastapobhiḥ krīta eva te | krīto'smi tavasaundaryātkṣaṇamekaṃ yugāya te
“Từ hôm nay trở đi, Ta là kẻ tôi tớ của nàng—như đã tự dùng khổ hạnh của chính Ta mà ‘mua’ lấy vì nàng. Say đắm trước dung nhan nàng, Ta như bị nàng ‘chuộc’ về; với Ta, một khoảnh khắc bên nàng hóa thành cả một đại kiếp.”

It expresses śaraṇāgati (total surrender): even tapas finds its fulfillment when it becomes humble service offered in love, pointing to grace-centered Shaiva devotion.
Though Shiva is beyond attributes, the Purana highlights Saguna worship—devotion to Shiva with form and qualities—where love, beauty, and intimacy become valid spiritual means, supporting Linga-bhakti as a personal relationship with the Lord.
The takeaway is tapas joined with bhakti: daily japa of the Panchākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) with disciplined conduct, offered as service to Shiva (and Shiva-Shakti), rather than as mere self-powered achievement.
