Pārvatī’s Discourse: Establishing Śiva as Parabrahman
Lord Shiva
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Type: stotra
Shakti Form: Pārvatī
Role: teaching
It highlights Śiva’s grace (anugraha): the Supreme Pati makes himself approachable by manifesting an auspicious form for dhyāna, and instructs the devoted soul (Pārvatī) who stands in humility—showing that reverence and meditative readiness invite divine teaching.
The verse supports Saguna-upāsanā: Śiva reveals a meditational form that the mind can hold steadily. In Shaiva practice this complements Liṅga worship—both are compassionate ‘supports’ (ālambana) leading the devotee from form-based contemplation toward deeper realization of Śiva’s supreme nature.
It points to Śiva-dhyāna with humility: begin worship with respectful composure, then meditate on an auspicious Śiva-form as your support. Practically, this pairs well with japa of “Om Namaḥ Śivāya” and calm inward focus before or after Liṅga-pūjā.
