Pārvatī’s Discourse: Establishing Śiva as Parabrahman

Tattva Level: pasha
Shiva Form: Īśāna
Significance: Establishes aparādha-bhaya (fear of offense) specifically regarding Śiva-nindā; encourages reverence at all Śiva-sthalas and in daily worship, since disrespect is said to burn accumulated puṇya.
It teaches that Shiva-nindā (disparagement of Śiva) is a grave aparādha: ignorance of Śiva-tattva leads to actions that destroy one’s accumulated spiritual merit, obstructing grace and progress toward liberation.
Linga-worship and Saguna Śiva-bhakti depend on reverence for Śiva as Pati (the Lord). Criticism of Śiva undermines devotion and faith, so the Purana warns that such offense burns up punya that would otherwise support worship and spiritual ascent.
The implied remedy is devotional restraint and purification: refrain from Shiva-nindā, cultivate Śiva-bhakti through japa of the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya), and perform Śiva-upāsanā with humility (often supported in the Purana by bhasma/tripuṇḍra and rudrākṣa as aids to remembrance).
