Shiva Form: Dakṣiṇāmūrti
Role: teaching
It highlights Śiva’s karuṇā (compassion): though established in profound dhyāna, He responds to sincere devotion, showing that divine grace (anugraha) awakens and guides the soul toward liberation.
The verse portrays Saguna Śiva—personal and responsive—who can be approached through bhakti and prayer (as in Liṅga worship). The devotee’s petition draws the Lord’s attention, affirming relational worship alongside inner meditation.
Steady dhyāna with humility and prayerful surrender is implied; in Shaiva practice this is commonly supported by japa of the Pañcākṣarī ("Om Namaḥ Śivāya") and devotional service (sevā) in the spirit of Nandin.
