Pārvatī’s Fear and Himavān’s Consolation
जगाम शोकं शैलेशो सुतां दृष्ट्वातिविह्वलाम् । रुदतीं शंभुविरहादाससादाचलेश्वरः
jagāma śokaṃ śaileśo sutāṃ dṛṣṭvātivihvalām | rudatīṃ śaṃbhuvirahādāsasādācaleśvaraḥ
Thấy ái nữ của mình bàng hoàng tột độ, khóc vì xa lìa Śambhu, Chúa tể núi non (Himālaya) cũng tràn ngập sầu thương; lòng đau xót, Ngài tiến đến gần nàng.

It highlights viraha-bhakti—devotion intensified through separation—showing that the heart’s longing for Śambhu purifies emotion into single-pointed remembrance, a key Shaiva path toward grace (anugraha).
Pārvatī’s yearning is directed to Śambhu as the personal Lord (Saguna), which in practice is supported by Linga-worship—an accessible focus for continuous remembrance when the Lord is not outwardly present.
Sustained japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) with inward recollection of Śambhu, supported by simple Shiva-pūjā (water/abhisheka) and a steady devotional vow—especially suitable for Mahāśivarātri observance.
