(Questions on Tārakāsura and Śivā’s tapas) / “Inquiry into Tārakāsura’s origin and Śivā–Śiva narrative”

It distinguishes sāttvic, liberating devotion from desire-driven (sakāma) devotion, showing that faith may begin with personal aims but must mature into purity of heart for Shaiva spiritual fulfillment.
The verse reflects approaching Shiva in a personal, relational form (Saguna)—as lord and husband—where devotion is intimate; such devotion can later be refined into steadier, more sāttvic worship, including Linga-upāsanā.
The implied takeaway is to cultivate śraddhā and purify intention—supporting practices like japa of the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) and disciplined vrata/pujā so that sakāma impulses gradually become niṣkāma bhakti.
