The Recital/Teaching of the Thousand Names of Śiva

Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Īśāna
Type: stotra
Role: teaching
It affirms Shiva as Pati—the supreme Lord who is simultaneously beyond sensory grasp (adhokṣaja, unmanifest) and graciously accessible for devotion (manifest), guiding beings from bondage toward purity and liberation.
The verse supports Linga-worship as the meeting point of the unmanifest and manifest: the Linga signifies the transcendent Shiva, while ritual worship addresses Him as the approachable Lord who protects and rules the three worlds.
Meditate on Shiva as both vyakta and avyakta while repeating the Panchakshara mantra (Om Namaḥ Śivāya), and perform Linga-pūjā with bhakti to realize His transcendence beyond the senses.
