The Greatness of the Praṇava (Om) as Śiva
It identifies “Ma” as a mantra-principle of Hara who destroys tamas (spiritual inertia/ignorance) and links bindu with Maheśvara’s power of concealment (tirobhāva), explaining why the soul experiences limitation until grace and right knowledge arise.
Bindu is a subtle “seed” symbolically reflected in the Liṅga as the concentrated presence of Maheśvara. Worship of Saguna Śiva through liṅga-pūjā and Panchākṣarī-japa focuses the mind on that seed-source, moving from veiling (tirobhāva) toward revelation.
Panchākṣarī japa with attention on the syllable “Ma,” combined with a sattvic discipline (to reduce tamas), and bindu-dhyāna (one-pointed meditation at the subtle center) as a Shaiva method to seek Maheśvara’s clarifying grace.
