Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Rudra
It teaches that worship of Shiva-Rudra is performed with purity, correct orientation, and sanctification—outer ritual (homa) becoming an inner act of devotion, where offerings are dedicated to Pati (Shiva) for the loosening of pāśa (bondage) and the upliftment of the paśu (individual soul).
The verse supports Saguna Shiva worship through prescribed rites—offerings, ghee, and Rudra hymns—by which the devotee approaches Shiva in an accessible form. In Shaiva Siddhanta, such disciplined worship purifies the mind and prepares one for deeper realization of Shiva beyond form.
A homa-style offering: sit on darbha facing north, prepare a ghee-based caru, consecrate it, then chant the vyāhṛtis and Rudra-sūkta(s). As a meditative takeaway, offer each mantra with the feeling of surrender to Shiva as the indwelling Lord.
