Bridge to Lanka
कथञ्चित्सन्तरिष्यामस्तेवयंवरुणालयम् ।हतमित्येवतंमन्येयुद्धेशत्रुनिबर्हण ।।।।
kathañcit santariṣyāmas te vayaṃ varuṇālayam | hatam ity eva taṃ manye yuddhe śatrunibarhaṇa ||
Hỡi bậc diệt trừ kẻ thù, dẫu bằng cách nào chúng ta cũng sẽ vượt qua đại dương—nơi cư ngụ của Varuṇa; và ta xem kẻ địch ấy như đã bị hạ sát trong chiến địa.
"If we cross over that ocean infested with huge crocodiles and ascend the fortress of Lanka, know that the enemy is killed."
Dharma is unwavering commitment to justice: once the righteous path is chosen, obstacles are treated as surmountable, and the wrongdoer’s defeat as inevitable.
The speaker expresses confidence that crossing the ocean will happen by some method, and that the war’s outcome—Rāvaṇa’s defeat—is assured.
