Hanuman Enters Lanka and Encounters Laṅkā-devatā
ततः संवर्तयामास वामहस्तस्य सोऽङ्गुलीः।मुष्टिनाऽऽभिजघानैनां हनुमान् क्रोधमूर्छितः।।।।स्त्री चेति मन्यमानेन नातिक्रोधः स्वयं कृतः।
tataḥ saṃvartayāmāsa vāma-hastasya so 'ṅgulīḥ | muṣṭinā 'bhijaghāna enāṃ hanumān krodha-mūrchitaḥ || strī ceti manyamānena nātikrodhaḥ svayaṃ kṛtaḥ |
Bấy giờ Hanumān, bị cơn giận che lấp, co các ngón tay của bàn tay trái lại, nắm thành quyền và đấm vào nàng; nhưng nghĩ rằng: “Nàng là nữ nhân,” nên tự kiềm chế, không để cơn phẫn nộ vượt quá.
Overcome by anger, Hanuman clenched the fingers of his left hand and hit her with his fist. Considering her to be, after all, a woman he did not turn outrageous.
