अङ्गदसंवादः / Sampati and Angada: Genealogy, Jatayu, and the Search Vow
बभूवर्क्षरजा नाम वानरेन्द्रः प्रतापवान्।ममार्यः पार्थिवः पक्षिन् धार्मिक स्तस्य चात्मजौ।।।सुग्रीवश्चैव वाली च पुत्रावोघबलावुभौ।लोकेविश्रुतकर्माभूद्राजा वाली पिता मम।।।।
babhūv ṛkṣarajā nāma vānarendraḥ pratāpavān |
mamāryaḥ pārthivaḥ pakṣin dhārmikas tasya cātmajau ||
sugrīvaś caiva vālī ca putrāv oghabalāv ubhau |
loke viśrutakarmābhūd rājā vālī pitā mama ||
Hỡi loài chim, bậc tổ tôn kính của ta là vị vānara-vương dũng mãnh mang danh Ṛkṣaraja, một minh quân sống theo Chánh Pháp. Ngài có hai người con: Sugrīva và Vālī, cả hai đều sức mạnh vô song. Phụ vương ta, vua Vālī, lừng danh khắp thế gian bởi những công hạnh lớn lao.
