Rama’s Justification to Vali on Rājadharma

तां पालयति धर्मात्मा भरतस्सत्यवागृजुः।धर्मकामार्थतत्त्वज्ञो निग्रहानुग्रहे रतः।।

Transliteration

tāṃ pālayati dharmātmā bharataḥ satyavāg ṛjuḥ | dharmakāmārthatattvajño nigrahānugrahe rataḥ ||

Translation

Cõi đất ấy được Bharata cai trị—bậc có tâm hồn chính trực, lời nói chân thật, nết hạnh ngay thẳng—người thấu rõ yếu chỉ của dharma, kāma và artha, và chuyên cần cả nghiêm trị lẫn ban ân, tùy theo lẽ công bằng.
