FAQs

Dharma as respectful procedure: Janaka acts through proper consent and counsel, honoring the sage’s authority and maintaining righteous royal conduct.

After Rāma’s feat with the bow becomes imminent/decisive, Janaka prepares to summon Daśaratha by sending ministers quickly to Ayodhyā.

Janaka’s humility and propriety—he seeks Viśvāmitra’s approval and uses orderly governance rather than impulsive command.
