गङ्गा हिमवतो ज्येष्ठा दुहिता पुरुषर्षभ।तस्यां कुरु महाबाहो पितृ़णां तु जलक्रियाम्।।।।
gaṅgā himavato jyeṣṭhā duhitā puruṣarṣabha | tasyāṃ kuru mahābāho pitṝṇāṃ tu jalakriyām ||
Sông Hằng là trưởng nữ của núi Tuyết Himavat. Hỡi bậc trượng phu tối thượng, hỡi người tay mạnh—hãy dùng nước ấy mà cử hành thủy lễ dâng lên các bậc tổ tiên.
