tapyamāne tapo deve devāḥ sarṣigaṇāḥ purā | senāpatim abhīpsantaḥ pitāmaham upāgaman ||

Translation

Thuở xưa, khi Đấng Thần (Īśvara) đang chuyên tu khổ hạnh, chư thiên cùng các chúng ṛṣi đã đến yết kiến Pitāmaha (Phạm Thiên), mong cầu một vị thống soái cho thiên binh.
