Siddhashrama and the Vāmana Narrative
एवमुक्तो महातेजा विश्वामित्रो महान् ऋषि: ।प्रविवेश तदा दीक्षां नियतो नियतेन्द्रिय:।।1.29.30।।
evam ukto mahātejā viśvāmitro mahān ṛṣiḥ |
praviveśa tadā dīkṣāṃ niyato niyatendriyaḥ ||1.29.30||
Được thưa như vậy, Đại Thánh Viśvāmitra—rực sáng oai lực tâm linh, giữ giới nguyện nghiêm mật, chế ngự các căn—bấy giờ bước vào nghi lễ dīkṣā (lễ thọ giới, nhập đàn).
Saying this, Viswamitra, the great saint effulgent and self trained engaged himself in the initiation ceremony.
Dharma is shown as disciplined commitment: sacred action becomes legitimate and fruitful when undertaken with restraint (niyama) and mastery of the senses (indriya-nigraha).
After speaking (in the ongoing narrative), Viśvāmitra prepares for a sacred undertaking by formally entering the consecratory initiation (dīkṣā).
Self-control and vow-bound steadiness—Viśvāmitra is portrayed as niyata and niyatendriya, disciplined in conduct and inwardly governed.
