The Manifestation of the Śloka

His disciple, delighted by the excellent verse composed by the sage, committed it to memory which left his spiritual preceptor pleased.
Dharma is preserved through faithful learning and transmission: the disciple receives and retains the teaching, enabling ethical knowledge to endure.
The disciple gladly accepts and memorizes the newly formed śloka, and the teacher is satisfied with the disciple’s receptivity.
Śiṣya-dharma: attentiveness, joy in learning, and accurate retention—qualities that support the continuity of sacred literature.
