Unspecified (context-dependent within Bhūmi-khaṇḍa dialogue)

Concept: When sense-objects are rendered as ‘soot’ (devalued), truth becomes directly evident; purity awakens self-luminous realization that shines without external support.

Application: Practice ‘kajjala-karaṇa’ of distractions: consciously label tempting stimuli as transient; redirect attention to nāma-japa or Vishnu-smaraṇa until the mind tastes a higher sweetness and clarity arises naturally.

Primary Rasa: adbhuta

Secondary Rasa: shanta

Visual Art Cues: {"scene_description":"The scene shifts from smoky lamp imagery to a sudden clearing: soot-like sense-objects crumble into ash at the devotee’s feet, and a brilliant inner light bursts forth from the heart-lotus. The devotee’s face becomes serene and stainless, as Vishnu’s presence is felt as a vast, self-radiant blue-gold expanse rather than a distant figure.","primary_figures":["purified devotee/sādhaka","Vishnu (self-luminous presence)","personified sense-objects dissolving into soot/ash"],"setting":"A threshold space between a dim lamp-lit room and an open luminous sky—symbolizing transition from viṣaya to tattva; faint temple silhouette recedes behind.","lighting_mood":"divine radiance","color_palette":["electric sapphire","molten gold","pure white","ash grey","lotus pink"],"tanjore_prompt":"Tanjore painting style: dramatic transformation scene—foreground soot and broken sense-objects rendered in dark tones, central devotee with an embossed gold leaf heart-lotus emitting rays, Vishnu’s blue-gold aura filling the background; rich vermilion and emerald borders, gem-like highlights, ornate halo work.","pahari_prompt":"Pahari miniature style: lyrical dawn opening—devotee seated near a lamp as smoke clears into a radiant sky; delicate ash particles, soft pink-gold horizon, refined facial serenity, subtle Vishnu presence as a vast blue wash with golden accents.","kerala_mural_prompt":"Kerala mural style: bold outlined devotee with a stylized lotus-heart radiating, soot motifs dissolving into patterned grey; Vishnu aura as a large blue field with traditional ornamentation, temple-wall symmetry and floral borders.","pichwai_prompt":"Pichwai cloth painting style: central heart-lotus medallion blazing with gold, surrounding soot motifs transforming into lotus petals; deep indigo cloth ground, intricate floral borders, peacocks and lotuses framing the self-luminous revelation in Nathdwara-inspired ornamentation."}

Audio Atmosphere: {"recitation_mood":"devotional","suggested_raga":"Desh","pace":"moderate-narrative","voice_tone":"reverent-soft","sound_elements":["conch shell swell","temple bells crescendo then fade","silence after cadence","gentle wind (now harmless)"]}

Sandhi Resolution Notes:

FAQs

It is a metaphor for vairāgya: seeing pleasures and possessions as ultimately insubstantial, so they no longer bind attention or create craving.

It presents realization as direct (pratyakṣa) and self-revealing: when the mind becomes pure (nirmala), truth/knowledge manifests and shines by itself.

Cultivate purity and restraint by reducing attachment to sensory indulgence; clarity and right insight arise naturally from a cleansed inner life.
