Narrator (contextual voice of the Purāṇic narration; specific dialogue speaker not identifiable from the single verse alone)

Concept: Acts driven by speed and sharpness (impulse and weapon) produce immediate, tangible consequences—blood as the visible sign of karmic causality.

Application: Notice how quickly harm escalates once violence is chosen; cultivate pause and restraint before irreversible actions.

Primary Rasa: raudra

Secondary Rasa: bhayanaka

Type: forest

FAQs

It describes a combat moment: someone is struck by a fast, sharp arrow that remains lodged, causing the victim to be covered in blood.

This verse is primarily narrative/action-oriented (battle imagery). Any broader theological or ethical emphasis depends on the surrounding verses in Adhyaya 45.

From the verse alone, it reads as third-person narration. The exact named speaker (e.g., Pulastya to Bhīṣma) requires the surrounding chapter context.
