Unspecified narrator (context suggests a Purāṇic dialogue frame, likely Pulastya speaking to Bhīṣma, but not provable from this single verse alone)

Concept: Divine manifestation responds to sincere tapas/dhyāna; sacred hymn (stotra) functions as a sin-destroying means when received properly.

Application: Approach prayer as a dialogue: ask with humility, then practice the received stotra regularly as a purifier of conduct and mind.

FAQs

A divine figure appears to grant a boon, and in response to a request, imparts a highly meritorious hymn said to destroy sins.

By highlighting a stotra (hymn of praise) as a means associated with purification and merit, it points to devotional praise as a spiritually efficacious practice.

Seeking guidance and asking for spiritually beneficial teachings—rather than merely worldly favors—is presented as a worthy use of divine encounter and boon-granting moments.
