FAQs

It highlights how moha (delusion) arising from captivating form can drive conduct, and how dharmic restraint is asserted through śapatha (solemn oaths) and a formal pledge (taking by the right hand).

Indirectly, it contrasts delusion caused by external form with the need for disciplined commitment; bhakti in the Purana is sustained by steadfast vows and integrity rather than being swayed by मोह (bewilderment).

The verse reflects dharmic procedure and social-ritual convention—śapatha (oath) and the right-hand pledge—aligned with kalpa-style norms (ritual/legal conduct), though no technical Vedanga doctrine is explicitly taught in this line.
