Suta (narrating Purāṇic teaching on Kurukṣetra-māhātmya)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: adbhuta
Secondary Rasa: bhakti
It elevates Kurukṣetra during a solar eclipse as an exceptionally potent sacred time-place (kāla–kṣetra), where charitable giving (dāna) yields an unfailing, repeatable fruit across lifetimes.
While framed as dāna-phala, the verse supports Bhakti indirectly by encouraging sacred acts performed in holy contexts; such offerings are traditionally dedicated to the Divine, strengthening devotional intention through ritual generosity.
Jyotiṣa (Vedic astrology/astronomy) is implied through the focus on grahaṇa-kāla (eclipse time), indicating that specific celestial timings are treated as spiritually consequential for rites like dāna.
