Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: adbhuta
Secondary Rasa: bhakti
It ranks the purifying power (pāvanatva) of Gaṅgā-snāna: bathing in the Gaṅgā anywhere grants Kurukṣetra-like merit, while her meeting with the Vindhya is praised as yielding tenfold greater fruit, highlighting the special potency of certain tirtha-confluences.
Though it speaks in tirtha terms, it supports bhakti-culture by directing devotees toward sacred spaces connected with divine purification; Gaṅgā is approached with reverence, faith (śraddhā), and a vow-like intention, which are core dispositions of Viṣṇu-bhakti practice in Purāṇic dharma.
It reflects applied dharma and ritual practice rather than a technical Vedāṅga: the practical takeaway is tīrtha-snāna-vidhi—choosing auspicious sacred locations (especially saṅgama/confluences) for higher ritual merit, a common Purāṇic guideline for pilgrimage planning.
