Glory of Puruṣottama: Pañcatīrthī Observance and Narasiṃha Worship
नमः शिवाय शांताय सर्वपापहराय च । स्नानं करोमि देवेश मम नश्यतु पातकम् ॥ १५ ॥
namaḥ śivāya śāṃtāya sarvapāpaharāya ca | snānaṃ karomi deveśa mama naśyatu pātakam || 15 ||
Đảnh lễ Śiva, bậc an tịnh, đấng trừ diệt mọi tội lỗi. Ôi Chúa tể chư thiên, con thực hiện lễ tắm thanh tịnh này; xin cho tội nghiệp của con tiêu tan.
Narada (as a ritual formula/prayer within the tirtha-vidhi context)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It frames tīrtha-snānā (sacred bathing) as a conscious act of purification, sealed by devotion to Śiva as the pacifier of the mind and remover of pāpa (sin).
Bhakti appears as surrender through direct address—“namaḥ” and “deveśa”—showing that inner repentance and remembrance of the deity are central, not merely the external act of bathing.
Ritual application (Kalpa/Prayoga) is implied: a concise mantra-prayoga to be recited at the time of snāna, aligning action (karma) with intention (saṅkalpa) for purification.
