Glory of Puruṣottama: Pañcatīrthī Observance and Narasiṃha Worship
Narada (teaching within a tirtha-mahatmya/ritual instruction frame, traditionally relayed in Purana dialogue)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: vira
It emphasizes that remembrance (smaraṇa) and disciplined japa of Narasiṃha—performed in a purified state—protect and guide the practitioner even through formidable or liminal realms like Pātāla, pointing to the Lord’s imperishable refuge.
Bhakti is shown as steady God-remembrance and name/mantra repetition: the devotee “remembers Narasiṃha” (inner devotion) and “does japa” (outer practice), treating the Lord as the constant, undecaying support.
Mantra-practice discipline is implied: śuddhi (purification) before japa reflects ritual procedure (kalpa-style practice), and correct recitation/muttering aligns with śikṣā (phonetics) and vyākaraṇa-informed accuracy in mantra usage.
