Puruṣottama-māhātmya
The Greatness of Puruṣottama Kṣetra
Narada (addressing Sanatkumara)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: adbhuta
It frames the chapter as a tīrtha-māhātmya inquiry: the glory of Hari’s kṣetra is such that mere pilgrimage (gamanāt) is said to make a person kṛtārtha—spiritually fulfilled and life-purpose accomplished.
By centering the discussion on “Hari’s kṣetra,” it presents devotion as place-centered remembrance and approach to Viṣṇu—going to the Lord’s sacred domain as an embodied act of bhakti that ripens one’s spiritual aim.
No specific Vedāṅga (like Vyākaraṇa or Jyotiṣa) is taught in this verse; the practical takeaway is tīrtha-practice—undertaking pilgrimage to Viṣṇu’s kṣetra as a recognized dhārmic discipline within Purāṇic tradition.
