The Greatness of Kāśī (Avimukta): Pilgrimage Calendar, Yātrā-Dharma, and the Network of Śiva-Liṅgas
Narada (narrating to an addressed listener within the Tirtha-Mahatmya dialogue)
Vrata: none (tirtha-yātrā observance)
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: adbhuta
It highlights a time-specific tirtha practice: in Jyeṣṭha, holy beings (Siddhas) exemplify the ideal pilgrimage—purifying bath (snāna) and reverential worship (pūjā) at Rudrāvāsa-kuṇḍa—showing that sacred time and sacred place together intensify merit.
Bhakti is implied through “snāna-pūjā-parāyaṇaiḥ”—the pilgrims are not casual visitors but fully dedicated to worship; devotion is expressed through disciplined sacred acts at a revered tīrtha.
Kalpa/ritual discipline is foregrounded: the verse specifies the proper season (Jyeṣṭha-māsa) and the core observances (snāna and pūjā) at a tīrtha, reflecting applied dharma through correct timing and procedure.
