The Greatness of Offering Piṇḍas at Viṣṇvādipada (Viṣṇupada) — Gayā Śrāddha Procedure and Fruits

Suta (narrating the Tirtha-Mahatmya tradition)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: bhakti
It presents a Tirtha-Mahatmya phala: the sacred site called Muṇḍapṛṣṭhādri is identifiable by divine “footprints,” and performing proper Pitṛ-worship there yields an exalted post-mortem attainment for the ancestors—described as reaching Brahmā’s abode/state.
Bhakti here appears as reverent service expressed through ritual honour (pūjā) to the Pitṛs at a holy place; the verse links sincere, dharmic worship with a tangible spiritual fruit (gati), reinforcing devotion as disciplined, results-bearing practice.
It points to Kalpa (ritual procedure) in the form of Pitṛ-kriyā—Shraddha/Tarpaṇa done at a tirtha according to prescribed rules—emphasizing correct performance (vidhi) as the basis for the stated result.
