Gaṅgā-māhātmya
पात्रां तरविशेषेण फलं चैवोत्तरोत्तरम् । विभवे सति यो मोहान्न कुर्याद्विधिविस्तरम् ॥ १८ ॥
pātrāṃ taraviśeṣeṇa phalaṃ caivottarottaram | vibhave sati yo mohānna kuryādvidhivistaram || 18 ||
Dù người thọ nhận không phải là pātra đặc biệt, quả báo của bố thí vẫn tăng dần theo sự cao quý của vật thí. Nhưng kẻ có đủ phương tiện mà vì mê muội không cử hành nghi lễ đầy đủ và đúng pháp, thì không đạt được quả báo cao hơn.
