Māgha-snāna, Harivāsara, and the Kāṣṭhīlā-Upākhyāna
धर्म्मसेवार्थकं स्नानं नांगनैर्मल्यहेतुकम् । होमार्थं सेवनं वह्नेर्न च शीतादिहानये ॥ १३ ॥
dharmmasevārthakaṃ snānaṃ nāṃganairmalyahetukam | homārthaṃ sevanaṃ vahnerna ca śītādihānaye || 13 ||
Tắm gội phải được thực hành vì mục đích phụng sự Dharma, chứ không chỉ để sạch thân. Cũng vậy, chăm nom ngọn lửa thiêng là để cử hành tế lễ homa, không phải chỉ để xua lạnh và những điều tương tự.
