The Narrative of the Pativrata
trikaṭuṃ pradadau bharturyatnena mahatā tadā | śītārtaḥ kaṃpamāno'sau patnyaṃgulimakhaṃḍayat || 83 ||
Suta (narrating the Purana to the sages at Naimisharanya; embedded narrative)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: karuna
Secondary Rasa: bhayanaka
It highlights how even well-intended service (offering a remedy like trikaṭu) can be undermined by agitation and weakness; steadiness and care are part of dharma in everyday conduct.
Indirectly, it shows that devotion expressed through seva must be accompanied by mindfulness and compassion; in Purana narratives, inner discipline supports outward acts of care.
No explicit Vedanga instruction is stated; the verse mainly records a domestic incident involving a traditional warming remedy (trikaṭu) rather than grammar, astrology, or ritual procedure.
