It catalogs divine functions and emblems—acts of protection, cosmic restoration, and the identifying insignia of the Lord—so the listener recognizes the many operative powers of the Divine behind ritual, mantra, and sacred narrative.
By highlighting recognizable attributes (conch, discus, bow, arrows) and heroic deeds, it supports devotional remembrance (smaraṇa) and visualization of Vishnu’s protective presence—key supports for bhakti alongside recitation and worship.
The verse functions like a technical enumeration used in Purāṇic-vedic instruction: precise cataloging of attributes and deeds aids correct identification in ritual/recitation contexts, aligning with the Vedanga spirit of exactness (especially in śabda and ritual description).
