Narada (narrative voice within the dialogue tradition; verse praising Markandeya as an exemplar)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It presents Mārkaṇḍeya as a model of integrated spirituality: unwavering devotion to Hari together with the lived practice of supreme Dharma and disciplined Vedic ritual action.
Bhakti is shown as steady absorption in Hari (“haribhaktirataḥ sadā”), not merely sentiment—it coexists with righteous conduct and sanctified action, making devotion a continuous life-orientation.
The phrase “vidhivat” stresses correct ritual procedure—implying competence in Kalpa (ritual manuals) and allied Vedāṅga disciplines needed to perform yajñas according to śāstra.
