It sacralizes all major śāstric disciplines—Purāṇa, logic (Nyāya), exegesis (Mīmāṃsā), and Dharmaśāstra—by declaring them manifestations of Viṣṇu, implying that true study culminates in devotion and realization of Viṣṇu.
By identifying scripture itself as Viṣṇu’s form, the verse frames learning, recitation, and right interpretation of śāstra as acts that naturally support Viṣṇu-bhakti rather than mere intellectual pursuit.
The phrase “sāṅgā vedāḥ” points to the Vedāṅgas—Śikṣā, Vyākaraṇa, Chandas, Nirukta, Kalpa, and Jyotiṣa—teaching that these technical sciences are integral supports of Vedic practice and are also to be revered as connected to Viṣṇu.
