Nārada’s Hymn to Viṣṇu
Nāradasya Viṣṇu-stavaḥ
नारद उवाच । सर्वज्ञाः स्थ मुनिश्रेष्ठाः भगवद्भक्तितत्पराः । यूयं सर्वे जगन्नाथा भगवन्तः सनातनाः ॥ १६ ॥
nārada uvāca | sarvajñāḥ stha muniśreṣṭhāḥ bhagavadbhaktitatparāḥ | yūyaṃ sarve jagannāthā bhagavantaḥ sanātanāḥ || 16 ||
Nārada thưa: “Các bậc Muni tối thượng! Chư vị đều là bậc toàn tri, chuyên nhất trong bhakti đối với Đức Bhagavān. Quả thật, chư vị đều là bậc chủ tể của vũ trụ—những đấng vĩnh hằng, đáng tôn kính.”

This verse establishes Narada’s humility and reverence toward the exalted sages, recognizing them as spiritually accomplished and firmly rooted in devotion to Bhagavan—setting the tone for receiving authoritative dharma and bhakti instruction.
Bhakti is presented as the defining excellence of the greatest sages: they are ‘bhagavad-bhakti-tatparāḥ’—single-mindedly dedicated to devotion—implying that true knowledge and spiritual authority culminate in loving service to the Lord.
No specific Vedanga (such as Śikṣā, Vyākaraṇa, Chandas, Nirukta, Kalpa, or Jyotiṣa) is taught in this verse; instead, it frames the credentials of the teachers—omniscience and devotion—before technical or ritual instruction is given.
