पटो ध्वजस्य विप्रेन्द्र यावच्चलति वायुना । तावन्ति पापजालानि नश्यन्त्येव न संशयः ॥ ४२ ॥
paṭo dhvajasya viprendra yāvaccalati vāyunā | tāvanti pāpajālāni naśyantyeva na saṃśayaḥ || 42 ||
Hỡi bậc tối thắng trong hàng brāhmaṇa, chừng nào tấm vải của lá cờ thiêng còn phấp phới theo gió, chừng ấy mọi chùm nhóm tội lỗi đều tiêu tan—không còn nghi ngờ gì.
Narada
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: adbhuta
Secondary Rasa: bhakti
It teaches that honoring a consecrated sacred flag (dhvaja) is not merely symbolic—its very presence and movement is treated as a continuous purifier that destroys accumulated sin (pāpa) and generates merit (puṇya).
Bhakti is shown through reverence to Vishnu-related worship markers in temples and vratas. The fluttering dhvaja represents ongoing devotional proclamation, and the verse links such visible devotion to inner purification.
Primarily Kalpa (ritual procedure): it emphasizes the efficacy of ritual emblems used in worship (like a dhvaja) and the idea of continuous merit accruing through properly established sacred observances.
