Dvādaśī-vrata: Month-by-month Viṣṇu Worship and the Year-End Udyāpana
Narada (in instruction to a leading brahmin/ritual recipient within the dialogue tradition)
Vrata: Śrīdhara-vrata (contextual continuation)
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: vira
It teaches that mantra-practice is completed and made fruitful through dharmic giving (dakṣiṇā), emphasizing that inner spiritual effort should be sealed with outward generosity and ritual propriety.
While not naming a deity here, the verse reflects a bhakti-aligned ethic: sincere worship and mantra-japa are coupled with selfless offering, reducing possessiveness and supporting spiritual receptivity.
It highlights Kalpa (ritual procedure): the correct completion of a rite includes prescribed dakṣiṇā and gifts (vastra, hema-kuṇḍala), which are treated as integral to obtaining siddhi.
