Sanatkumara (teaching Narada)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It warns that devotion mixed with material bargaining—seeking wealth and provisions—keeps worship within rājasa psychology, limiting inner purification and the rise toward desireless bhakti.
It distinguishes motive: worship of Hari is not rejected, but when driven by craving for worldly gain it is graded as inferior rājasa devotion; purer bhakti is oriented toward pleasing the Lord rather than extracting results.
The verse primarily applies guṇa-based discernment (a sāṅkhya-like evaluative lens) to ritual worship; it is more about motive-analysis than a specific Vedāṅga like Vyākaraṇa or Jyotiṣa.
