आत्मानं घातयेद्यस्तु रज्ज्वादिभिरुपक्रमैः । मृते मेध्येन लेत्पव्यो जीवतो द्विशतं दमः ॥ १९ ॥
ātmānaṃ ghātayedyastu rajjvādibhirupakramaiḥ | mṛte medhyena letpavyo jīvato dviśataṃ damaḥ || 19 ||
Nhưng kẻ nào tự sát bằng dây thừng và các phương tiện tương tự—nếu đã chết thì thi thể phải được xử lý bằng cách bôi chất tẩy uế để thanh tịnh; nếu còn sống thì bị phạt hai trăm (paṇa/dama).
