खनितं हस्तमात्रं तु जलं तुण्डेन चात्मनः । ततोऽन्यदाऽमुया काल्याहस्त युग्ममितः कृतः ॥ ८८ ॥
khanitaṃ hastamātraṃ tu jalaṃ tuṇḍena cātmanaḥ | tato'nyadā'muyā kālyāhasta yugmamitaḥ kṛtaḥ || 88 ||
Ban đầu, nó chỉ đào sâu bằng một gang tay; rồi bằng chính mỏ của mình, nó mang nước đến. Sau đó, vào một dịp khác, cũng nhờ nỗ lực ấy của Kālyā mà thành ra được mức hai gang tay (về độ sâu/độ rộng).
