Suta
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It establishes the sacred transmission of knowledge: Sūta conveys to the assembled sages the very teaching earlier imparted by Sanaka and other great sages to Nārada, grounding the text in an authoritative guru–śiṣya lineage.
Direct bhakti practice is not described here, but the verse sets the stage for Nārada’s received instruction—traditionally centered on devotion and dharma—by emphasizing attentive listening (śravaṇa), a foundational limb of bhakti.
No specific Vedāṅga is taught in this verse; it highlights the method of learning—śravaṇa (listening) in a rishi-assembly—which is essential for preserving Vedic and Purāṇic instruction.
