Śuka’s Yoga-ascent, the Echo of ‘Bhoḥ’, and the Vaikuṇṭha Vision

Nếu phụ thân ta có chạy theo ta, vừa kêu khóc: “Ôi Śuka!”, thì các vị—giữ tâm an định và chú niệm—hãy đáp lại người bằng lời lẽ thích đáng.
Śuka (instruction to companions/attendants in the narrative context)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: karuna
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It highlights the discipline required during renunciation: even when strong family attachment arises (a father calling out in grief), one should respond through calm, mindful, and appropriate speech rather than emotion-driven reaction.
By emphasizing samāhita (collected attention), the verse supports Bhakti as steady inner orientation—devotion is protected when the mind is composed and one’s words are guided by dharma rather than attachment.
The practical takeaway aligns with Śikṣā and Vyākaraṇa in spirit: disciplined, correct, and context-appropriate speech (prativaco deyaṃ) delivered with mental focus (samāhita), which is essential for dhārmic conduct.
