Phạm Thiên (Brahmā) nói: “Hỡi Marīci, hãy lắng nghe. Ta sẽ thuật lại tác phẩm do Vedavyāsa trước tác—bộ Purāṇa mang danh Śrīmad Bhāgavata, được tôn xưng là kinh điển ngang hàng với Brahman (Veda).”

Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: adbhuta
Secondary Rasa: bhakti
It establishes the Śrīmad Bhāgavata as a supremely authoritative Purāṇa—“brahma-sammitam”—and frames it as a Veda-aligned revelation meant to be heard with reverence.
By glorifying the Bhāgavata Purāṇa—traditionally centered on Bhagavān and devotion—it signals that hearing (śravaṇa) such a text is itself a foundational bhakti practice.
The verse emphasizes textual lineage and authority (who composed it—Vedavyāsa—and its Veda-equivalent status), a key practical principle for śāstra-study rather than a specific Vedāṅga technique like Jyotiṣa or Vyākaraṇa.
