The Outline (Anukramaṇī) of the Vāyavīya (Vāyu) Purāṇa

ध्रुवं लोकहितार्थाय शिवेन स्वशरीरतः । शक्तिः कापि सरिदृपा रेवेयमवतारिता ॥ १० ॥

dhruvaṃ lokahitārthāya śivena svaśarīrataḥ | śaktiḥ kāpi saridṛpā reveyamavatāritā || 10 ||

Quả thật, vì lợi ích của thế gian, Śiva đã khiến một Thần lực nào đó từ chính thân Ngài giáng xuống trong hình tướng một dòng sông—đó chính là Revā.
