The Narration of the Brāhma Purāṇa’s Account
Brāhma Purāṇānukramaṇikā
Narada (narrating anukramanika-style puranic summary to the Sanatkumara brothers)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: karuna
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It highlights a key dharmic insight: even exalted ṛṣis can have their discernment momentarily obscured by attachment (putra-sneha), reminding the listener to cultivate detachment and clarity.
By implying that personal attachment can veil the mind, it indirectly supports bhakti’s discipline of redirecting affection toward the Divine, so love becomes purifying rather than binding.
No specific Vedāṅga (like Vyākaraṇa, Jyotiṣa, or Kalpa) is taught in this line; it functions as narrative setup within the Purāṇic summary and lineage tradition.
