The Account of the Ekādaśī Vow Observed Throughout the Twelve Months
Narada (teaching in a vrata-context; traditionally framed within Narada–Sanatkumara dialogue)
Vrata: Varūthinī-vrata
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It declares that disciplined observance of the Varūthinī Vrata purifies one from all pāpa (sin) and culminates in attaining the Vaiṣṇava padam—Vishnu’s highest state/abode.
Bhakti is expressed here through a vowed practice (vrata) undertaken with niyama (restraint and steadiness), with the promised fruit being direct orientation to Vishnu—attaining a Vaiṣṇava destination rather than merely worldly merit.
The verse emphasizes ritual discipline (niyama) central to vrata-prayoga (practice of vows); it is more about dharma-anuṣṭhāna (religious observance) than a specific Vedāṅga like Vyākaraṇa or Jyotiṣa.
