Primary Rasa: karuna
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It establishes the Purāṇa’s authority through a recognized ṛṣi-paramparā and highlights the saintly ideal: firm dharma joined with compassion for the suffering.
By praising sages who protect and uplift the distressed, it points to bhakti expressed as dayā (compassion) and dhārmic conduct—core traits of Vaiṣṇava character even when explicit Vishnu-bhakti is not named here.
No specific Vedāṅga (like Vyākaraṇa or Jyotiṣa) is taught in this verse; the practical takeaway is the importance of authenticated transmission (guru–śiṣya/ṛṣi lineage) when preserving and reciting Purāṇic texts.
